Erika Bahr is the founder and CEO of Daxe, a venture-backed enterprise AI company developing agentic workflows, GraphRAG systems, and governed AI infrastructure for regulated industries including financial services, legal services, government, and compliance. Her work applies the logic of disruptive innovation: starting in underserved, high-friction markets and building capabilities that redefine how institutions operate.
Her work focuses on translating emerging AI capabilities into practical enterprise strategies, trusted client relationships, and executable transformation programs that create new markets and reconfigure old ones.
She has advised senior stakeholders, designed AI products, developed enterprise business cases, built commercial partnerships, and coordinated execution across engineering, product, legal, security, finance, operations, and go-to-market teams.
Erika is also a mother of four. Her experience raising children in a world increasingly shaped by AI has made child-safe, privacy-preserving, and responsible artificial intelligence deeply personal to her.
The future of AI should not be defined only by what systems can do. It should be defined by what we are willing to trust them to do.

What I believe about responsible AI
Responsible AI is not a communications strategy, a policy document, or a promise that a model will behave. It is an operating system for how AI is designed, deployed, monitored, governed, and held accountable.

AI must earn authority
The more consequential an AI system's actions become, the stronger its evidence, permissions, testing, escalation paths, and human oversight must be.

Responsibility cannot be delegated to the model
AI systems do not carry moral, legal, or organizational accountability. People and institutions do.

Evidence matters more than confidence
Enterprise AI should show its sources, reasoning trail, uncertainty, missing information, and decision history.

Human oversight must be meaningful
Human-in-the-loop should not mean a person blindly approves an automated recommendation. People need the context, authority, and time required to intervene.

Privacy is part of product quality
Organizations should minimize data collection, protect sensitive information, control retention, and avoid using customer data to train models without explicit authorization.

Children deserve a higher standard
AI products designed for or accessible to children should prioritize safety, developmental appropriateness, privacy, healthy boundaries, transparency, and parental trust.

Governance should accelerate adoption
Strong governance is not the enemy of innovation. It is what allows companies to deploy AI with greater speed, confidence, and institutional support.
